SUMMARY OF THE LECTURE

PRESENTED AT CITY HALL

IN THE CITY OF VOLOS  

            On June 16^th 2001, in the city Hall of the City of Volos, Greece, a lecture, with title "Ancient and Modern Medicine,"  was delivered by the Head of Sahaja Yoga of Greece, Mr. Theodore Efstathiou, MS,BS, Massachusetts Institute of Technology '58.

            During the lecture several items regarding medical knowledge were thoroughly documented. First of all today's scientific knowledge regarding the evolution of the human brain was known in Ancient Greece. Science today speaks of the existence of a problem of consciousness in human beings,  (Francis Crick, Nobel laureate for discovery of the DNA  along with Dr. Watson, in his book the "Astonishing Hypothesis" presents his case) and Behavioral problems that do not allow a person to use his full intelligence potential in life. (Donald Goleman in his book "Emotional Intelligence"). All scientists revert to Ancient Greece for their support of the root knowledge of such problems. However the problems associated with the evolution of the human brain were not known only to the Ancient Greeks, but are described in all the Holy texts including the Revelations of Saint John, but in a highly allegoric form. It was documented that modern Medical Science and Biotechnology cannot come close to the depth of knowledge that existed in Ancient Greece, regarding these fields. The Holy texts provide also for the cure of such problems.

            It was documented that the ancient Greek philosopher Socrates is a seer of God  and Divinely inspired, and a Prophet, and therefore a Divine Incarnation, thus he is on equal footing as Moses of the Old Testament. As a result, the International Academia is in complete error in placing Socrates in the "deep freeze" as just another philosopher, even though of great authority. All of the Socratic statements in the Ancient Greek literature on the pre existence of the souls and the reincarnation of the souls are Divine revelations. Socrates has answered all points regarding he creation of genes, the cure of diseases and infirmities, and the condition for human beings to have complete immunity to all such calamities. Socrates concludes that no medical doctor and no educator has the knowledge of himself, and this is the reason they practice these professions. On account of this lack of self-knowledge, Socrates calls such people, the doctors and educators that is, as non-virtuous persons.            Similarly when Christ cured the person that suffered infirmity, told him not to sin any more because worst things will come to him.(John 5:14) Christ repeats the Socratic position that all diseases and infirmities are psychosomatic, and people suffer out of their ignorance in the way they behave. Christ speaks of the way people can be immune to diseases and infirmities, and the way genes are formed. The lack of knowledge of the self or sel-realization is the reason that Academia and Theologians cannot read properly the Platonic works and that they cannot associate the Socratic dialogues as being an integral part of the Christian Gospels. Also Scientists not having their self-realization are unable to understand the agreement between Science and Religion that exists.

            It was documented that the well known Delphic-Socratic "know thyself" is not a philosophical concept, but a Divine command and it means that you have to come to know your soul. The knowledge of the self is the foundation of all religions, Islam included. The "soul" that is encountered in the Ancient Greek and early Ecclesiastic literature, is the Tree of Life or the Tree with the Apples of Hesperides that is reported in the Ancient Greek Mythology. These, are no other than the Subtle System, the knowledge of which has been reinstated by Her Holiness Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi.

            The awakening of the "unspoken fire" of the Eleusinian Mysteries, otherwise known as Kundalini, that is to be found in the Sacrum Bone at the base of the spine of all human beings, is called knowledge of the self or self-realization

The name Socrates derives from the Greek words "soteria-krato" meaning salvation-hold, thus Socrates was the holder of salvation for humanity. Socrates had come to save the Athenians and humanity by reinstating the Divine rules, but the Athenians did not understand him.

            It was documented that the Ancient Greeks in the Asclepeia (the holy hospitals) and the first Christians, knew of the causes and cure of cancer. In particular, early Ecclesiastic Father Clement of Alexandria(c. 153-217 AD) states  that there are angels in the leaves of the Tree of Life. Early Ecclesiastic Father Origen (c. 184-254 AD) says the following with respect to Cancer: "It is impossible to introduce into science as a theorem, and it is impossible for man to conceive things that are above him and to understand, such as is the cure of cancer, even though, it is supervised by Angels× it is impossible for one to conceive that which does not exist, or to understand that which cannot be done. It is necessary to speak of the things that do not exist. The absence of  a trace from the flight of an eagle in the air, corresponding to the foot prints of a person walking on soft soil× similarly for the snake× on a soft soil it is possible to the trace of its path, but it is impossible to see its path on stone.(Origen, Library of Ecclesiastic Fathers Greek Authors, Apostolic Deaconess of the Church of Greece, Athens, 1958, volume 16, page 243.9).

            Origen, in speaking of the things that cannot be conceived implies the Tree of Life, and his statement is applicable  to all religions, Ancient Greek, Judaic and Christian, Hindu etc. It is seen that such cures were effected through the Divine in unison with angels or gods. Science having rejected any involvement of God in its workings, has not be enabled to find the cause and cure of diseases and infirmities. It can be safely said, that the efforts of biotechnology to cure diseases through the manipulation of the human genom, will not have the desired results, but will create worse diseases.

Today, in Greece, this disease causes 35000 deaths per year. Of these, 24% involve cancer of the breast. Today cancer can be prevented and cured in its early stages with the practice of Sahaja Yoga.

            The Holy texts of Zoroaster speak that the cataclysm of Noah, occurred on account of some "oven." The importance of this stems from the fact that Socrates, is using the word "vanausos", to describe virtually all of the Athenians since they  occupy themselves with "vanausa" professions. The word "vanausos", can be shown to have an etymology stemming from the words describing the firing up of an oven. Thus Socrates has prophesied one of the calamities of our era, the Greenhouse effect that is currently causing great concern to the scientists. He has also prescribed its cure, which is self-realization. The Greenhouse effect is predicated on the concept of the "hot" and "cold" that is repeatedly met in the Ancient Greek literature, and which cannot be felt unless Kundalini is awakened. This is of concern to the whole of humanity, because science cannot discover the entire heat source that is required  to justify the cause of the Greenhouse effect. Socrates therefore is telling us the source of the heat, that scientists cannot discover. Science will therefore have to come to Sahaja Yoga to comprehend where all this extra heat is coming from.

            Given the fact that Socrates is a "seer of God" and a "Divinely inspired Prophet", it must cause concern to the whole of the Greek population the exhortation he gave the judges that sentenced him to death. He told them that with his sentencing, the city of Athens would lose His protection. Also he prophesied, that after his sentencing other nations would dominate the Athenians, and as a result the whole of Greece. Since that time, Greece has gone through a chain of national disasters. The fact that Socrates declared that he was protecting the city from such domination, is in line with our finding that Socrates is a seer of God, since only persons that are at least at the level of a saint, can become protectors of the city. In the same way, James, the brother of Christ wad called "Oblias." The word "Oblias" means something like a bulwark or the fortress. James was the protecting saint of Jerusalem, and his death signaled he beginning of the end of Jerusalem.
